Ride for Operation: Transition Outside the Wire

April 20, 2024

Please RSVP on our Meetup page so we have an accurate headcount.

CHARITY RIDE OPEN TO ALL RIDERS & ALL BIKES

Join us as we ride to raise money for Operation: Transition Outside the Wire, an organization that supports our service men and women as they transition from the military back to civilian life.

The event will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, starting at Indian Motorcycle of Orange County. Our route will take us through some of Orange County’s most scenic canyons with our destination being Hafey Farms at the top of Ortega Highway for some amazing BBQ, and lots of fun.

Operation: Transition Outside the Wire’s mission is to systematically and purposefully transition service men and women from their active duty “inside the wire” to civilian life.

They help them overcome challenges acclimating to day-to-day life in a proactive manner. They receive Veterans on their working ranch (and their spouse and children if desired) just as they return from combat and instantly start working on their service connects.

From day one and throughout their 6-month stay on the ranch, they are provided housing, employment, transitional support services, VA support, counseling, food, education, transportation, community, etc. to set them up for success with their civilian life.

The Ride Plan
We will be starting our morning at Indian Motorcycle of Orange County for ride registration. IMOC is donating Coffee and Donuts to fuel us for our ride!

We will ride thru beautiful Santiago Canyon, and tree lined Live Oak Canyon before heading south on Antonio Parkway to Ortega Highway where we will wind our way up the hill to Hafey Farms. John and his amazing staff are preparing a delicious BBQ Lunch for us. Lunch is included with your registration fee. Lunch options will include Brisket, Pork Loin or BBQ Chicken along with their World Famous BBQ Beans. Feel free to upgrade your lunch (additional cost paid to Hafey Farms) to one of their other amazing menu options. Shop around their charming little county store while you’re there.

*Exact route to be determined based on weather and road conditions.
